Brand Nirav Modi, has become a talk of the town in three global fashion hubs in a span of just two months. Keeping up with the incoming news from Nirav Modi is fast becoming a tedious task for us journalists but not the brand’s team. With a humble beginning from a ‘By Appointment’ Salon, started in Mumbai a few years ago, Nirav Modi today has left footprints across the globe from Mumbai to Delhi, from Hong Kong to New York and from Paris to London… and still has many upcoming plans penned in his diary.
The international adventures began with a new advertising campaign shoot truly universal in its appeal. Shot in New York City by legendary photographer Peter Lindbergh, the campaign magically captures three global fashion icons. English actress and model Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Romanian model Andreea Diaconu and Bollywood actress, model and TV presenter, Lisa Haydon are seen adorned in exquisitely crafted Nirav Modi jewels in the campaign.
The brand was the first Indian jeweller to exhibit at the prestigious Le Biennale des Antiquaries exhibition held in September 2016 in Paris. On display were some signature Nirav Modi jewels surrounded by delicate paper craft artworks. Exclusive pieces like the Maharani necklace, the Constellation necklace, Ainra waterfall earrings showcased innovative jewellery-making techniques with hints of Indian traditions and wowed the international audience. Lisa Hayden looked stunning in black dress clubbed with spinel and diamond studded Camellia necklace set.
Their next destination is one the most expensive streets in the world’s retail industry- London’s Old Bond street that houses some of the world’s most coveted jewels adorned with exceptional diamonds and precious gems. After successful store launches internationally in New York & Hong Kong, Nirav Modi launched its London boutique with a grand celebration attended by International celebrities, style influencers and some of London’s most elite. The seventh retail boutique for the brand, and first in Europe, is located in London’s Old Bond Street, situated between YSL on one side and Akris on the other. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and star Lisa Haydon graced the occasion on behalf of the brand adorned in Nirav Modi’s finest. Spanning four floors of a magnificent townhouse on Old Bond Street, visitors to the store will discover some of the most exclusive pieces by the brand.
In just a month from the London boutique launch, the brand launched its first international flagship store in Hong Kong, at 1881 Heritage. To mark the celebration, the two honorary guests were in attendance – world-renowned award winning actress Zhang Ziyi, wearing Spring Delight Necklace and Earrings, and Korean superstar, Rain. At this occasion, the brand also showcased their high jewels including the Water Lily Necklace and Earrings, the Cinderella Necklace, and the Spring Delight Necklace and Earrings.
Synonymous to the brand international look and feel, the 3000 sq. ft. Hong Kong boutique also boosts an elegant and polished environment through which visitors are instantly transported to a world of marvels. The use of quality materials, different tones of mother of pearls, fine metals from brushed silver to shiny rose gold, luxurious velvets, sparkling crystals and luminous frosted glass all add to the charm of the boutique. The store features the signature handcrafted paper art window friezes echoing the delicate craftsmanship seen in the jewels.
These latest international ventures showcase the significance of how the international audience is allured by the brand’s jewels and establishes his success in the global market.
