Ganjam showcases handcrafted masterpieces at IIJW 2014

The second day of IIJW 2014 saw many jewellers exhibiting their bejeweled arts but the one, which stood out and caught attention was Ganjam- one of India’s premium luxury brand with its origins from Bangalore.

Ganjam, known best for their Heritage jewellery and their design oriented collections, showcased new additions to their heritage collection along with two of their new collections Chestnut Leaf & Blossoms.

The show commenced with Ganjam’s trademark Heritage jewellery, which is interwoven with the tradition of temple architecture. The Ganjam heritage jewellery is crafted in 22 kt gold using precious stones like rare rubies, emeralds and their F VVS minimum standard of diamonds. Large pendant necklaces, traditional headgear, stunning earrings and wrist wear gave the guests a taste of the sheer brilliance of the workmanship and versatility involved.

For those with a penchant for a lighter palate, Ganjam exhibited the all diamond Chestnut Leaf collection. This collection draws its inspiration from the unique short-stemmed oblong leaves of the Chestnut tree. The collection is simple, elegant and contemporary classic in its style.

Blossoms, is all about colour, which is the protagonist of the collection with a wide range of dual as well as multi color combination of gemstones highlighting the vibrancy and femininity in this collection.

Ganjam also exhibited 2 of its recent statement creations – the AEON & ARBOUR AMORE, which were created as part of the annual SWAROVSKI Gem Vision trend books. Aeon is inspired by the arabesque, eight- point star from one of the Moorish architecture ‘Alhambra’ in Spain, with geometry illustrated by a star, femininity accentuated subtly from the lotus on the sides and arabesque constituting the infinite movement for balance, harmony and symmetry.

Arbour Amore is a bridal headband created in gold leaf design and studded with Swarovski Gemstones. The Arbour Amore was also the chosen piece showcased by Ganjam for the Grand Finale of Day 4 of IIJW 2014. Sonam Kapoor, brand ambassador of the India International Jewellery week 2014 emerged wearing the “Arbor Amor”, wrist wear from Gerbera collection, ring from the Nizam collection and floral earrings.

The showstopper piece for the Ganjam show was the ‘Mayuraratna’, adorned by the gorgeous Sagarika Ghatge. A classic combination with white brilliant cut and pear cut Ganjam diamonds weighing 80.80cts and 15 exclusively sourced drop- shaped Zambian emeralds weighing 243cts create this beautiful symphony of design and craftsmanship. The back of the necklace is beautifully crafted with two peacocks coming together.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr Ganjam said, “It is always an honour to be a part of the India International Jewellery Week along with peers from the industry. GJEPC has created a great platform for jewellery houses to come together and exhibit their creations and exchange ideas. We take pride in the fact that we are able to showcase such diverse and versatile product offerings from the House of Ganjam. It highlights the remarkable innovation and creative thought process finding its voice and being fostered at Ganjam.”
