~ Jewellery stories where India plays muse ~
From the one who has always loved flipping through various coffee table books and has book shelves overflowing at home, I have come a long way! With the support and motivation of people who have believed in my work lead me to write coffee table books and today, I proudly share with you my fourth jewellery themed coffee table book “INDIA INSPIRED”
‘INDIA INSPIRED’, a 150 plus page book, was launched at the first ever Jaipur Jewellery Design Festival (JJDF) held in association with Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) from 22nd – 25th December 2017 and is published by C A Publication, Mumbai. It was my honour that the book was launched amongst the presence in industry dignitaries and numerous high profile Indian jewellers.
The book was an integral part of this unique design festival encapsulating the theme in the best possible way. The book features high jewellery from 45 globally renowned jewellers, in whose creations India has played an inspiring role. A plush and vivid glossary of this multi-faceted quality of India and how it has contributed to the vivacious gems & jewellery industry. Each of the four sub themes ‘Magnificent India’, ‘In Love With India’, ‘Indian Innovators’ and ‘Artisans Of India’ is an odyssey on various Indian and international jewellers and how in one way or the other India has played a pivotal role in their journeys and creations.
India is one of the most magical countries of the world. The culture, the lifestyle and the diverse attributes of this country have not just inspired those traveling to India but it has also motivated the in-borne talent of India. The flamboyance of India is visible clearly in our jewellery legacy and how the current generation has built on it, by mega folds in recent years, garnering a lot of attention from global jewellery aficionados.
The book begins with ‘Magnificent India’ that talks about some of the most iconic Indian jewellers who have built a legacy like no other. Moving ahead, various interpretations of Indian aesthetics, as picked by renowned international designers, can be seen in ‘In Love With India’. Where ‘Indian Innovators’ takes you through some of the most innovative Indian jewellers, ‘Artisans Of India’ shares some of the finest examples of jewellers and artisans who have helped in keeping our rich jewellery heritage alive.
My aim behind the creation of this unique coffee table book is to showcase how India has inspired the world and how today, the India itself is a new and inspired version. With the help of spectacular imagery, the book gives you insights on many features of India, its art and traditions, and how they have guided the jewellery industry.
