Azva, bridal jewellery from World Gold Council, has brought back the lost charm of gold jewellery. Derived from the Sanskrit word ‘ashvaa’, Azva has been put together by India’s finest craftsmen, some of whom have been in the business for over 100 years.
Sponsors of the India Bridal Fashion Week, Azva paired their jewellery with garments of many leading designers of India- Tarun Tahiliani, Rohit Bal, J J Valaya, Suneet Verma, Raghvendra Rathore and many more. Actress Kangna Ranaut showcased a flamboyant necklace with peacock feathers paired with Suneet Verma couture. Gold jewellery, which was once thought could only be paired with traditional Indian clothes was paired with dresses and formal business suits, creating a contemporary look with Gold jewellery. Slender models showcased gorgeous chokers, hasli, earrings, cuffs and elaborate maangtikas. Priya Sachdev & Nargis Fakhri also graced the Azva show in gorgeous red and black dresses, highlighting gold choker necklaces.
Azva has successfully helped many dying jewellery making crafts back into fashion. One could see beautiful artistry using filigree, wire weaving, beaten gold with granules, paisleys, bunches of chains, engraving, cabochon gemstones, beaded multi-layered strings and much more.
